Cheater finish!

I have made one of these before...they are so quick and easy! I call it my cheater baby quilt.

It is actually a panel, so no piecing involved!
I needed a quick baby gift, so whipped this one up in short order.  I used a bright flannelette  for the backing..

And just FMQ  easy flowers, loops and hearts all over..

For baby quilts I like to use the flannelette for the binding too, so the edges are soft.

I also usually machine sew the binding, because I expect that it will get washed often. I tried this time to use one of the decorative stitches that are on my machine.  It was supposed to be little hearts...looks a bit more like squashed tulips!..

But soft and cuddly none the less...and ready to give away!

So I will link up with  TGIFF...and check out what others have been doing!

  1. There's no rule against cheater panels, especially one this cute. Those trees are way cute. Love the little birdies.

  2. There is nothing wrong with a panel - that's what they were created for. How sweet, and your flannel goes so well with it. I would say - NICELY DONE!

  3. I agree, no rules against panels, especially when they are cute like this one. I love the FMQ you did on it, Flo and the decorative stitch on the binding. I'm going to have to try that sometime -- it adds a beautiful detail.

  4. i used to get already quilted panels from walmart and most people just loved them . all i did was sew on the binding. course i had one step girl that said "is this from scratch" i was working at the time and she knew better. i guess it was a hint so maybe her grandchild will get a hand made one
