I have not joined in WIP Wed for a long time,so thought I would share what I am working on this week..linking up to WIP at Freshly Pieced
and also The Needle and Thread Network!
So, I bought this panel about a year ago..actually in Newfoundland! (thanks again Andrea) It was supposed to be a cloth book..
I cut the pages apart and sewed a 1 1/2 " white, then 2 1/2" yellow border around each picture.
Then I joined them together with some coordinating John Deer fabric and a little black border....
It will end up about a twin size quilt.
I bought some John Deer flannel fabric for the back, but of course didnt have enough!! So I pieced it together with some green, and used every little scrap I had!!
It is now basted and I have started quilting! I am using a straight line quilting around each picture, and between the blocks.
I have no idea why I started making a John Deer Quilt! I have no grandsons...and no prospect for any in the foreseeable future! It just looked like fun, I guess. Anyway, it is almost done...maybe I can sell it and buy some new fabric :)
Oh, this is so sweet - John Deer is very popular, so if you think of selling, I am sure it will be snatched right up! Love the piecing of the front and especially the back.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun. Nice piecing job. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWell, that'll be quite cute. Nice job. I understand about the adding all the pieces! ;^)
ReplyDeleteWell, you will have a finished John Deere quilt no matter why you ended up with the panel/blocks. It's a great alternative to making a book.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhh this is new John Deere since I`ve worked with it...lol love the back...really neat!! Thanks for visiting; I think the Sew Intertwined quilt might be nice...fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. I am sure you'll find a little boy somewhere who will just HAVE to have it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! I love making items that are for no one in particular- those are fun projects. I'm sure you'll find some little boy out there that would love this quilt ( or a grandma who wants to buy it)
ReplyDeleteI guess thats the thing about making quilts -- we do them just cause! If you don't sell it, I'm sure you will find good use for it!
ReplyDeleteIt's is the perfect quilt for a little boy so I bet you can sell it.
ReplyDeleteSuch I fun quilt, I have seen one other blogger use the print to make a rag quilt =D
ReplyDeleteYou are like me...do what makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt! : )
ReplyDeleteSuper cute quilt. Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteNice way to use those panels. You'll probably find a little boy who just needs a tractor quilt.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is just fun to do things without reasons and if you do sell it it will be loved by some young boy for sure , great job!!
