I finished this fun little quilt! It is so cute..I can just see some little boy dragging it around!
I posted previously about the construction...it was made from a panel that was intended to be a book. So I just cut the pages apart and added some borders around each one and some John Deer fabric sashing ...easy peasy!
The backing is a John Deer flannel, so will be really cozy!
And as usual, though, I didn't have quite enough, so patched together all the little scraps!!
For the quilting I just did straight lines. Or to be more exact, I did squares around the pictures and borders....turn the quilt around a million times, drive me crazy squares !!!
Next time I will just straight line quilt straight across the whole thing! Live and learn!
This one is going to be for sale, so maybe someone will think of it as a good Christmas present!!
I am checking out TGIFF...this week over at Missy Mac Creations.....and see what everyone else got done this week!!

Lovely finish Flo. I know a few little boys who would love, love, love it. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finish - and I see a label - yeah!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love your fabric choices and the baking is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThis will make some little boy very happy. Good idea to cut out some of the book panels.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! It's really good idea for a book panel!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the square quilting - it looks so effective but argh, frustrating to do!
Adorable quilt, Flo! Some little tractor fiend will be in heaven! I learned a tip this summer to minimize turning when doing straight line quilting -- use the reverse button and sew backwards. It felt totally weird for me at first, but I'm getting the hang of it and it's a big time saver.
ReplyDeleteeven though we are anti-John Deere in this house that is still a really cute quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun finish, the fabric is too cute! =D
ReplyDeleteHow cute!!! That will make a little boy VERY happy :)
ReplyDeleteSweeet!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I'm not much for fussy quilting either. I usually fmq since it's fast and relatively easy. Have A great weekend!
