Taking Inventory..

We are home from Maui. :(  and, back to the real world! And the snow...and the cold! Although I have to admit we have had a very mild winter this year. The only cold snap ( minus 40) happened when we were away in Maui, so we missed it! Finally timed it right this year!!

It has taken me a little while to get back to blogging too. I think I got used to just "lurking" and reading what everyone else was doing. Like I said...I am very relaxed now! :)

I have been doing a bit of sewing, but have been very relaxed and lazy.....really haven't gotten much accomplished. I started feeling like I had a lot of things piling up...time to take inventory!

Surprise ...I actually only have 4 quilts "in progress":
"Square dance" basted and waiting to be quilted..

"Charlotte" (material I bought on my trip to Charlotte NC). is now finished..waiting to be basted...

the pink Magic 4-patch (Strawberry Fields) progress....

and then one that I have started cutting out, but sort of forgotten about...(sorry..the color is not good in this pix...more later )
Oh....I forgot to mention the "wonky blocks" The blocks have been finished for a long time...just not quite sure what I want to do with them now.. guess that makes 5 works in progress.
So ...actually I feel better now! Ha!!
Not as bad as I thought it was. I have decided to try to finish these...or most of them, before starting anything new.

BUT...then I went through my fabric closet.......I thought I had  fabric set aside for about 5 or 6 more quilt tops...but I actually counted (bad plan!) and I have fabric and plans for 11 (yes...eleven) other quits!!! YIKES. OK, it is as bad as I thought it was!

I am seriously trying not to buy anything new...except borders, backing or binding for these, until I get some of them finished!  Wish me luck!

  1. Oh, some lovely projest! Inventory now is better than at the end of the year and they all sat. As long as you are enjoying the journey, all is good.

  2. I'm glad you are safely back home. Sounds like a WONDERFUL vacation :D
So many lovely projects in the works. Lots of variety. Looks and sounds a little like my sewing area. But, no worries about finding something to work on...
Good to see you back : )

  3. Wow, Maui! Lucky you! I'm missed out on a lot of what you've been've been busy! As I was reading your post, Tony walked up and looking over my shoulder said, "I really like that one" about your Square Dance! So thanks a lot, Flo! ;) It is a great quilt...added to my to do list!

  4. I'm still Nice to have you back.

  5. wow. That is a LOT. !! I love square dance!! And the strawberries are pretty.
    Welcome home!

  6. Hahaha. Have someone hide your cards so you can't purchase anything more online. I need to start using up the fabric I already have then I'll go crazy and buy a load more. Try bed sheets for backing fabric =D

Please leave a comment or just say hello....It's nice to know I am not talking to myself!
